Aaron Avila Interview
I’m humbled and honored to have been interviewed by Aaron Avila on his Stroke of Genius podcast, which was broadcast on StrokeTV media via C-Suite Network. I wanted to be on his show for two reasons.
The first was because of his intention to provide his listeners with an understanding of The Five Stages of Grief so they could know how to effectively manage whatever loss they may have experienced after having a stroke.
The second reason was because this information could also be used by individuals who are in recovery from addiction. Loss can be related to a physical ability (e.g., no longer being able to use a hand), and it can be related to the discontinuing use of a substance that was providing pain relief (e.g., OxyContin). In either situation knowing how to manage loss provides the best chance for someone to have the most satisfying life possible after experiencing a loss. .
If you’d like to learn more about me, you can listen to the October 4th interview on YouTube. Highlights of the information discussed during the interview include:
- What triggers the Five Stages of Grief
- The main thing that results in a person experiencing the Five Stages of Grief
- The reason each of the Five Stages of Grief aren’t experienced only one time
- The effect of thoughts on emotions and behavior
- A brief summary of the Five Stages of Grief
- The surprising role of denial during the first stage of grief
